1. Flights WILL Sell Out
Whether you're looking for a cheaper option, connecting via the USA, or a non-stop charter flight, there are a limited amount of seats. All airlines have a range of seat prices - the first to sell out will always be the least expensive, so the earlier you book, the more you'll save. (Flight schedules are usually finalized & bookable at least 6 months ahead of time).
2. Resorts WILL Sell Out
You may think that a 3,000 room resort complex will have plenty of space left & be offering it for a steal but you'll be surprised to learn that the larger resorts often sell out. Don't forget that you are not the only one who is planning a Christmas vacation, travelers from around the world are choosing the same tropical destination you are. If you're looking at a mid-size resort of 1,000 rooms or something smaller you'll want to book early or you may have to go to plan B, that is if you have a plan B.
3. Cheaper Room Categories WILL Sell First
I've often heard this phrase from clients "...all I'm going to do is sleep in the room - it doesn't matter what it looks like". The most basic room is perfect for these people and fits their budget nicely. Once those basic rooms are gone though, the price will inherently increase as you start to get a room with an actual view, better amenities, or better room location. If you want to be able to have options you need to book early.
4. Christmas Vacation = Gift = One Stop Shopping!
So you call me up & tell me your travel dates & budget. I recommend a great resort for your vacation. You book it. Tell your loved one you're taking them on vacation for the holidays and BAM! your Christmas shopping is complete. No trips to the mall, driving around endlessly looking for a parking spot, then walking around like a zombie, trying to think of what to buy.
Bonus - remember how bad traffic was last December when you had to pop out to the Liquor Store or pick up some items from Costco? You can avoid ALL of that by being away, relaxing on the beach, sleeping in, and ordering room service.
Cerveza por favor!
- Something To Look Forward To
Having a crummy Monday? Stuck in traffic? Everything magically becomes more tolerable when you've got a fabulous vacation booked. Looking ahead to the dreary weather of winter, you'll be busy with happy thoughts of walking on the beach, drinking fabulous umbrella drinks, and enjoying that relaxing sun on your shoulders.
Mark off each day on your calendar and the days leading up to vacation time will whiz away!
- Ever Tried Shopping For Sandals in December?
I have. It wasn't successful. August is typically the clear out month for summer clothes, as stores look to capitalize on Back To School and new Fall Fashions. Grab shorts, bathing suits and sandals at great prices or face ordering online and hitting the beach in clothes that very nearly fit.
